Before I decide the school, I heard that GEOS is an acknowledged school to improve speaking skill. That's why I decided to go to GEOS. At first, I couldn't understand what teacher and classmates said, so I considered to move down my level. But my classmates are always kind to me and help me a lot, so finally I decided to carry on this level. I think it was good choice. After a week, I felt that my listening skill is getting better. And I got used to attend to my class day by day, so I enjoying go to school and study hard. I think speaking skill is weak point of many Japanese, but there are a lot of opportunities to speak in English during each class. Every student must follow the English only policy. This policy is useful to keep my motivation for study. You can make a lot of friends easily because there are not so many students in this school compared with other language schools. And teachers are always friendly to students, so you can ask any question about study, and you can enjoy talking as well. In my opinion, this school is the one for me. If you want to improve especially your listening and speaking skills, I recommend you to choose GEOS.

Hi, I'm Lani from S.Korea. I've learned TESOL in GEOS Calgary. I applied this course to be an English teacher in my country. This course was a little bit challenging to me because the teaching skills were different with the ones in my country. My teachers ( Perry & Merion ) always tried help me and my TESOL classmate to improve teaching skills. It really helped me and I felt that my teaching skills were getting better. Now, I feel more confiedent to teach Enlgish and I'm sure I can be a professional teacher. Of course, there are more practices needed. If you want to be a good English tacher in your country, take the TESOL in GEOS.

This is Hidemi Sato. I was a student of GEOS from this summer. I was in TOEFL class with Merion and Maureen. After I got home, I took the test in Japan. When the score came out, I was surprised. I was able to take the score than I imagined. Now, I have a chance to study abroad which was my dream! I am happy because I was able to improve my score to reach my dream. However, that is not the only thing that makes me feel happy. Also, I was able to enjoy my stays with my friends that I met in GEOS. This is more important for me. The school activities also helped me to make friends. For example, I made a lot of friends in canoeing and downtown tour. Consequently, I was able to have friends not only from TOEFL class but also from other class. I am glad that I am still friends with them. I sometimes contact them via facebook. Thanks to you all, I had an awesome summer!! I was able to learn a lot and enjoy it to the maximum. I would like to see you again!!

I'm studying English because I need English for my future. I want to be a chef. English is the first language in the world now, so it's important for me. I have studied English here for 7 and a half months. My first impression of GEOS was that everyone was friendly to me, and they tried to help me whenever I needed help. When I was in Colombia, I talked to an agency there. They told me about GEOS. When I heard all those things, I decided that it would be a good school for improving my English. When I came to Canada, the thing that was the most difficult was to think in English, because I always translated everything. However, I try to speak with native speakers, and I try to practice all the time. I try to practice all my skills all the time, and that helps me to think in English. Now, I think my English has improved a lot because when I started, I didn't have good English. Nobody could understand me, and I couldn't understand anyone. Now I can understand almost everything. That's how I know that my English has improved over time. If someone wants to be a Student of the Month, I think that they have to do their best, and try to improve their English as fast as they can.

I wanted to study about speaking while I am staying in Calgary. I heard from my agent that GEOS focuses on speaking. Also, when I went to GEOS as a trial student, teachers and students were so nice. I thought I wanted to study at GEOS. That's why I decided to go to GEOS. I'm taking TEC course now. I want to be an English teacher in Japan, so this course helps me a lot to be an outstanding teacher. It was challenging for me to make a lesson plan and teach it to students. I did not know how to make a lesson plan, but Maureen, my lovely teacher, helped me a lot. Therefore, I can keep going. I want to be an English teacher in Japan. I want to tell children about real life in Canada. I'm a lucky girl because I'm surrounded by a lot of people who take care of me a lot. I keep a good relationship with my host family. Also, GEOS teachers and my classmates are very kind to me. They remember my birthday, they told me Happy Birthday. I have a lot of experience that I will never forget. Since I have stayed at GEOS, my speaking skill is improving. I have to speak all the time, so I can make a sentence faster than before. Also, I got communication skill. Therefore, I do not feel nervous when I talk with a native speaker who I meet for the first time. For the first time, you might feel challenging, but it helps you to improve your English. If you are worried about something, students and teachers are helping you a lot, so you do not have to be worried. I really like GEOS, so you must feel comfortable at GEOS.

I am studying English because I want to improve my English. I want to find a good job in Taiwan, possibly as a secretary. I also need English for traveling; I want to take my parents around the world. Since they don't speak English, I'll be their interpreter. I have been studying at GEOS Calgary for 4 months, and I'll be here for 1 more month. My first impression of GEOS was kind of strange, because everything was so new for me. But all the office staff and teachers were so nice to me. My agent said that if you want to improve your speaking, you should go to GEOS so I decided to come here. I think pronunciation is difficult. In class, I can speak a lot, so my teacher helps me with my pronunciation. Grammar is also difficult. I have tried writing a diary, and the teacher checks it for me. However, I have improved my English. I have learned new vocabulary, and new grammar. My speaking has also improved, especially my pronunciation and fluency. If you want to improve your English, speak as much as possible. Make friends from different countries. Study hard. Also, watch English videos and TV.

My Name is Hassan Fikri I studied in GEOS Brighton nine years ago, so I knew that GEOS could help to achieve my goals. My purpose for studying English is to achieve a high score on the TOEFL test in order to get acceptance in the U of C for MBA program. When I studied in Calgary, my first impressions about the City was so cold for me but I enjoyed the weather afterwards. GEOS Calgary is small compared with GEOS Brighton but has almost the same study contents. My classmates are outstanding and my English level is not as good as I thought. Now, my feeling about my English is improving so far especially my pronunciation. For this reason if you are looking for a good ESL school in Calgary, GEOS would be one of the best.

This is a great opportunity to be a teaching assistant of level 1 and 2 in GEOS. I have attended the classes for 2 months. When I could help students well like grammatical corrections or finding new ideas, it gave me confidence. However, I realised that English is profound rather than I was thinking. There are varieties of expression for individual people. I felt it difficult to fix students' own language well without changes. On the other hand, I enjoyed spending time with teachers and students most of the time. As a teaching assistant, I learned many things from them about English, communicative skills and consideration. I appreciate teachers that they encourage me to try many things. They gave me adequate advises and many chances of teaching jobs. The reason for choosing TESOL in GEOS, becoming a teaching assistant is provided after the course. It's a great occasion to build my teaching experience. If I don't be a teacher, these experiences will success in my life.

I have attended in my lifetime, two English courses at institutes well known in Venezuela and reach the final in both. But as only attended one or two hours a day, and the rest of the day I had no opportunity to practice English so all time I speak Spanish with everyone. With every passing day I was forgetting what I had learned, including I never could to understand a movie in English or with subtitles. I listened to it in English but I have to read it in Spanish. The result was that I could never have a conversation as I've always wanted and I think I've missed more than half the information available. As you know through the internet, as almost all the interesting information is in English. Because of my work, I have not a lot of free time, but I decided, despite my being 65 years old, I am trying to make something that many times in my life I've wanted to do and that is a course in a location where I had not many chance to speak Spanish but only English. I researched and chose GEOS CALGARY. Unfortunately I could only take a month, but I think this month I've learned enough to understand a movie in English and I think from now on I will only watch movies and read books in English because I don't want happen the same as in the previous experiences. I chose Calgary because I consider this city is located far enough from Hispanics. Also, the staff of GEOS CALGARY is a group of people turned out very proactive, nice and friendly, with highly attentive and willing to help me achieve the goal that brought me here, and also the system they offer, Canadian Homestay is very economical as well as very nice and helps keep practicing the language after class. I recommend, to stay away completely from friends and people who speaks your language because that really is not going to help you.

My name is Hoang le, I am 20 years old and I am from Vietnam. I have been here in Calgary for 6 moths. I decided to go to Canada to study English because I'd like to speak English like native speaker. I chose to study at GEOS because teachers in here are so friendly , and my classmate too. In Calgary, I learned a lot about different cultures from around the world. I made a lot of international friends. My first impression of Calgary was that teachers in GEOS were friendly and funny. I started to study as a beginner. I felt shy when I spoke English. But I tried to learn English in many possible ways. Now I am an extrovert, I enjoy talking to everybody. I think my English is improving a lot. I can speak and understand English speaker, better than I used to be. My study tips for students are to go to school every day and I always pay attention in class. Another important things is not only speaking, but also you must ask teacher a question as much as you can. That what I did to be successful. If you want to improve your English skills, there is no better way than leave your hometown for a while, go to any English speaking country, study and get a good experience in your life. For me, that GEOS Calgary!!!

I found GEOS online and I decided to enroll here because it has a convenient location (it's close to home and the childcare), also allow me to arrange times with the baby. I'm attending the 3rd level, I feel good. I have only some difficulty in understanding spoken language, overcome difficulties asking to repeat. I'm studying English for travel, unfortunately in my work (in Italy) is not required to speak any foreign language. I think that Calgary is a city full of greenery, very suitable for children, offers many opportunities for outdoor living. At GEOS I'm finding good, the classes are homogeneous and well sorted in terms of nationality: there is the opportunity to learn about different cultures, it is interesting and stimulating. I am convinced that my English is improving rapidly. The message I want to give people who want to join GEOS is that they will find professionalism, competence and flexibility and a friendly environment.

When I was a student in GEOS my level was 2 and I met a woman who was teaching English with teacher. She helped us a lot and inspired me. Thanks to GEOS, I decided to take a TESOL course in order to be an English teacher. In the course, I could learn how to teach English and prepare a lesson as well. This course was a good experience. Teaching English is related to learning English. During this course my English skill has improved at all. Although I am not native speaker but this school gave me a chance to teach English. I appreciate GEOS. What I am impressed is that students said "thank you" for me and I could notice what speaking skill of students increasing. I've been spending a great time with GEOS!!

I want to travel around the world, so I need to speak English. When I get back to Korea, I have to find a job. Korean companies require good English skills, so that's why I'm studying English. Also, I want to write a travel book in English. I have been studying for 2 and a half months. Sometimes the time goes slowly, because my level is pretty low, but that's okay. I want to take it easy. I have a good feeling and feel comfortable in my school. GEOS Calgary is located downtown, so it's convenient. Coming GEOS Calgary was a good choice, because my English skills are getting better. I feel good, because I'm learning something new every day. Also, my teachers are very good. They prepare things for me, and they explain very well. Reading was challenging for me. I really want to improve my reading. We read some newspaper articles in class. More of that would be good. I think my English is improving. My first month here, I couldn't talk to my Canadian family or friends, but now I can. I'm more comfortable speaking English now. I'm enjoying my life now, because my teachers and friends always help me. If you want to improve your English, don't be shy. Be like me: speak loudly, help your friends, joke, correct your classmates. Also, be happy every day. Smile and laugh every day.

Hello, everyone who is looking around for a good TOEFL class. I studied TOEFL at GEOS for 2 months. It was my first time studying TOEFL and I was a bit worried to hear that it was a conversational TOEFL class. Because I had never joined a conversational TOEFL class, I was also anxious about how the class would go.I didn't know about TOEFL at all, so I needed a lot of help at first. My teacher and classmates were very helpful and cooperative. Everyone helped each other, especially when there were new students in the class. When someone had a question or wanted to know the meaning of an unfamiliar word, he could just ask the other students. We discussed and shared our opinions in class. I liked the way the class progressed. Students practice the test just like under actual conditions. Especially when we practiced the speaking and writing sections, we had a time limit, as the real test does. Though practicing was tough, it made me feel more relaxed in the real test. I believe that's why I got a higher score than I expected. So no matter how long you've studied TOEFL, studying TOEFL at GEOS is a good opportunity to improve your English as well as your test skills.

I have studied at GEOS Calgary for 16 weeks. It is difficult to pronounce correctly and memorize vocabulary. I tried to make sentences or wrote a short paragraph to memorize the meaning of the words. I practiced English with my classmates, teachers and homestay parents to improve my speaking and pronunciation. Sometimes I watched TV and repeated them to by myself for practice. [But] don't be shy, speak out. Don't miss any opportunities to practice your English. I'm going to use English not only at work but in my life.

I used to study English at GEOS Japan then I had known GEOS Calgary by the leaflet about the study abroad. In GEOS Calgary, teachers and classmates are very friendly so I can study English in relaxed atmosphere. I take care to watch TV and try to speak English more to have a chance to improve my English. The purpose of my studying English is that because I would like to communicate with another country people in English and I'd like to use English for something volunteer work. Calgary is a modern city and there are various people getting together. Once go out of the city there is vast grassland spreading to the mountains. My Homestay host mother is very kind so I am having enjoyable homestey life. GEOS is very close to train station so it's convenient to commute to school. I think, the size of the school is suitable. Our classmates are all friendly. I think, I am not good at level 4 in listening and speaking but I will try to keep up with the class. It is hard to improve my English remarkably but I think I am improving a little by little. I feel the school is comparable with the last year when I was studying here at GEOS. Calgary is very safe and people are friendly. GEOS is an openhearted school. You can't improve your English without speaking English so If you come to GEOS, you should try to speak English actively without fear of committing mistake.

I am studying English, because I need the language for my future job in International Trade, in Mexico. I started studying at GEOS from March 21, and I’ll be graduation August 30. I’ve studied for three month. My first impression was that GEOS was a “comfortable” school; I made so many friends so quickly. I decided to come to GEOS because think GEOS is the best option. First, GEOS has a good reputation. My consulate said that GEOS was a very school. It was a choice between GEOS and another school, and I chose GEOS. The pronunciation is very difficult for me, but I try and practice in my homestay with movies, so that I can improve. My English has improved a lot. When I came here, my English was 10%; I only knew a few words. Now I know more words, and more grammar. Study tip for GEOS student is Try and try again, because all students make many mistakes. Don’t worry, just try, try, and try.

Hi!! I'm Melissa. Today, I want to introduce the TOEFL course at GEOS. If you need the TOEFL test or want to improve your quality of English, I highly recommend this TOEFL course at GEOS. I was taking ESL classes at GEOS before I took the TOEFL course. Actually I didn't need a TOEFL score, but when I first heard about the TOEFL course, I just decided to take it. First of all, I wanted to study more academically. I felt my English improved quickly for a while when I first came to Canada, but after that, I thought it had leveled off. Therefore, I wanted to study a higher quality of English, and it was the right decision. When I was in the TOEFL class, I found my weak points in English, and I focused on finding solutions. We studied all the skills, including listening, reading, writing and speaking. Sometimes we discussed our answers in small groups. Sometimes we argued about why we chose those answers, and we had to explain our choices. Regarding our writing and speaking skills, we helped each other and shared our opinions on how to give good responses. We also had lots of fun, although I was tough. The other reason why I considered taking the TOEFL course at GEOS, even though I didn't need a TOEFL score, is the TOEFL teacher. The teacher was great. As I mentioned before, I studied ESL classes at GEOS with the same teacher as the TOEFL for a long time, so I already knew his teaching style. It made me register for that course, too. He was strict about our mistakes. When we first made mistakes, he gave us time to find our mistakes by ourselves. We talked and advised each other. Then, if we made the same mistakes again, he made us discuss the mistakes. He also encouraged us always. When I first joined the TOEFL course, I was kind of depressed, because studying TOEFL was a huge challenge for me. I even thought I wanted to give up, but I just trusted him and I took the classes. Finally, I was chosen as the most improved student at the end of that course. My teacher and I were so proud of that. It helped me in real life, too. That course made me more thoughtful and insightful. Most lessons were about lectures, so I learned lots of incidental cultural points. Moreover, in the independent speaking and writing test, we had to organize our opinions quickly within a time limit. Many students, including me, found difficulties for the first while, but it got better and better. Now, when I get unexpected questions in real life, I am able to answer right away, even hard questions on the environment or the history of world, or whatever. Therefore, I want to say this course is not only for people who need to learn TOEFL test-taking skills, but for people who want to improve all of their English skills. Do not hesitate if you want to improve your English effectively!! This course is a great opportunity to develop your English and your critical thinking skills for real life.

I am studying English because I want to talk to many people, and I want to work in Canada. I would like to work as a sales clerk. I have been studying here for about 3 months. Listening was a little bit difficult and challenging for me. New things, such as grammar and vocabulary, are also difficult but when I get home, I look new words up in the dictionary, and I write them down. I was also chosen student of the month. Because I do homework every day, study every day, and study more, every day, after dinner.

I want to improve my English, and I feel that GEOS is an excellent school. I want to go to study my University in USA or here in Canada My first impression of Calgary was great! I'm really happy about my level and my classmates and everything. I feel my English is improving a lot, before coming to Geos I didn't know to talk English but now I know a lot, not perfect but is a huge step in my life. I think that this is a great school, because I like how they teach us, how they treat us, because you don't feel isolate, even if you don't know anyone in the school, and I like too that you have to have interaction with people from all over the world.

Take the TOEIC class. I did and my score went up 100 points in one month's time!! I took the TOEIC exam in November and scored 765 points. I discussed my score with GEOS staff and they recommended me to take classes. I gave a thought to that idea and planned to take the TOEIC class. I found that class very helpful as the teacher really guided me and other students about helpful tips and tricks to attempt the exam. So with all this I now scored 865 points in the Exam I wrote in December and I am very happy about that.

I have had a dream to work in the airport or become a pilot since I was a child. The reason why I study English is not only this, but also I am interested in communicating with people all over the world in the future. I wanted to improve my speaking skill, but there are a lot of schools to study English in Cargary, so I wavered which school I should go. However, when I took a trial lesson in GEOS, I decided to come there, because GEOS focuses on speaking skill. First, I thought that Calgary is not big and small, and comfortable to live. When I first visited GEOS, I was surprised because all teachers and students were kind and friendly. My English was so terrible, but it was no problem through that. It is said that it is difficult to study English for Japanese, but I feel my English is improving little by little. Since GEOS has many excellent teachers, I can recommend GEOS to them. However, I also recommend to take a trial lesson because I am sure that they can be satisfied of taking the classes if they do it.

I want to learn English in order to have more opportunites for finding a job, and I would also like to know different cultures. The teachers' in my English school told me that GEOS is very good academy and GEOS is a very good school. There you can at home because the environment is friendly, the teachers smile and are generous. The classes are small, and that allows you to practice the language more. I have listened about others school where the students numbers are too high and you can't practice English. Another things about GEOS is that the school is well located downtown, so there are many things nearby. In GEOS Calgary, I was not allowed to speak my mother language in the academy. Every single morning I used to speak English, and at the home stay I had to speak English, too. My home stay family and children were so generous to me. My first impression at GEOS was that everyone was so kind and helpful to me. In the beginning my classmates were a little unfamiliar because they come from different cultures too but with the time everybody was better.

I've been studying here for six months. Sometimes I feel that it's a long time, and sometimes it feels like a short time. Anyway, if I want to improve my English, it takes time. I want to go to university, hopefully in the next six months. I would like to study Electronic Engineering. I'm hoping to go to Dalhousie University in Halifax for that. My problem is grammar and pronunciation. I try to improve every day. If I don't understand something, I ask the teacher for help. I think my English is better since I came here to Canada. Now I can make a conversation with native speakers, and they can understand me. Everybody in the class was friendly to me. Everyone smiled. The teacher always helped me when I had questions, and helped me when I made a mistake. My cousin recommended this school to me. He told me that it was a good school, and that I could improve my English here. I think he was right, because I really improved my English, and I think it's really a nice school. Also, if anybody asks me for a good school, I'll recommend GEOS. If you want to reach your goals, you have to study hard, and you have to focus on your weak points.

No sooner I had arrived at Calgary Airport than I met with lost baggage incident. But my homestay life led to profit by this incident. Whenever I met people, I a bit exaggerated my unfortunate lot. You know, I could get their wide eyes and break the ice. At host family I had a great time of my life. I'm 65 years Japanese male and just retired from the Company on 31st September. I had some apprehensions about my homestay but thinking this and that. The host asked me of my preferences in food. Of course I replied I have no preferences in food and that I'd like to soak myself up in Canada lifestyle. My host seems to be very keen to keep in shape. With an excuse that wild deer will come out into the neighbourhood, my host took me out for a walk after supper. I enjoyed a wonderful walk chatting with my host about our family lives, Calgary Public Security, GEOS School life and I don't know what. Looking back I feel I have got something important I have never had in my life.

I am studying English because I want to pass the IELTS test and go to university. I want get my Ph.D. in Computer Science. I chose GEOS because it has many campuses, so I was familiar with the name. I've been here for 6 months. In Calgary, people were so kind and friendly. My classmates were friendly too, and my classes were fun, so that really made me enjoy studying here! I try to study hard, and try to talk to friends and teachers to overcome my speaking and pronunciation.\ I think my English is improving a lot. I can talk with other people, and they can understand me, more than before. Also, my writing is better; before, I couldn't write anything. Now, I can write essays, and other kinds of writing. My tip for success is to study hard. When you get home after class, review the day's lesson. Also, chat with friends and teachers.

We decided to GEOS Calgary after of looking different options in Alberta and GEOS Calgary offered the best combination of courses and prices. In GEOS Calgary permit us take in three and half month a good combination of ESL and TOEFL preparation programs. We needed study English in order to can apply to study a Ph.D in Computer Science in a English University. We hope get a good TOEFL score and apply to Calgary University the next year. Our first impression of this school was good, the induction process and the test to determine the level was impressive, in this moment, we knew that this is a serious and professional place. The teachers always are motivating us and given whole support that we needed in order to get a good progress in short time. The classmates are interesting people, we had learned a lot about of other countries and cultures at same time we improve our English. Our English level when we came to GEOS was irregular, we could read well but the other abilities had serious problems. Today, our English level had improved a lot, now we can speak with the people and write much better. People don't have doubt, come to GEOS Calgary is a great place and all people work here are a good people. They always are worried about you learning and you staying here in Calgary. Without any doubt we recommend you GEOS Calgary to learn English and have a good experience in your life.

My first impression of Calgary was the houses and buildings are different than other countries. And when I started to study at GEOS I was confused to ask question or to speak with others but I gave that emotion up on the second day because my friends and my teachers were so friendly. I began in level 1. It was not difficult to realize how I am speaking.I endeavoured to learn step by step. I just want to say that, when I came here I could only say; "Hi and Bye".Today I am speaking English. It makes me happy when I speak with someone if they can understand me and I can understand them that means I am sucessful. If you say that; I want to go to the GEOS to learn English then you can do that at GEOS Calgary in the shortest time!

I decided to go to Canada to study English because it is an important international language. Speaking is a great advantage, because any firm or company values it. My goal is speaking and understanding it perfectly, not only for university, but also for my future. I also can use it when I travel because it is a language spoken everywhere. I chose to study at GEOS Calgary because it is located close to the C-train. Learning how to commute in a foreign city is as important as having efficient transportation. Among other things GEOS offers great flexibility and extra activities that allow you to better know the Canadian culture and enjoy seeing the wonderful landscapes in this beautiful country. I liked GEOS Calgary because I met people from around the world from different backgrounds. All of this helped me to learn more English and know about other cultures. GEOS has five study levels. I started in level four, and I feel that my English has improved considerably. I feel comfortable when I speak with Canadian people, and I learned also to understand other accents thanks to the frequent communication with foreigners. My message is so simple: don't think twice. This is some thing that you will never regret. It is an experience that will change your life forever, and you can will expect beautiful things. You will have the opportunity to learn new things that perhaps were not in yours plans before coming here, but without a doubt those things will improve your life.

The reason I am studying English is because in the past studying English was only a trendy thing to do, but currently it is a necessity for finding better jobs and it is also useful for graduating from university. The reason why I chose to study English at GEOS Calgary was that from the moment I contacted them, they gave me great treatment. Additionally, GEOS has a good image among the languages agencies in my country. My first impression about Calgary was that there are a lot of things to do and the people are so friendly. Doing a Homestay is a good experience because it allow you to know another culture which you will live in while you are out of your own country. About GEOS, I can say that I felt helped by both teachers and classmates, which allowed me to improve in my English. Currently I feel happy because I can talk in English. My pronunciation is clearer and I can understand when people talk to me. My message to Anyone thinking about studying English at GEOS Calgary is that studying English in a friendly and kind environment like GEOS makes it easer and more fun to learn English. It will be an unforgettable experience.

I'm studying English to be able to continue studying at the university in Canada, and to use the English language for international business and traveling. Back home in my country I was searching and asking the international educational services companies about good language academies in Canada, and one of the recommendation was GEOS language academy so I decided to chose this school. Calgary - I was surprised I didn't know that this city was so great and the people are friendly. Homestay family - they were nice and I enjoyed their hospitality. GEOS Calgary - a warm school with such great teachers and perfect management. Classmates - they were cool and funny and helpful at the same time. My English level - I was more than happy when I found that my English is good and I started at a high level. My English improved very much, especially my weak points such as grammar and writing. The teachers helped me a lot and the students helped me to improve my speaking by practicing with them. I encourage them to join this great academy so they can improve their English and to have a very good opportunity to continue their advanced studies; this is not a courtesy from me, but this is my real opinion, and my classmates feel the same.

I want to get a higher education in Canada (Master's degree). Also, learning English is a valuable key that will enable me to communicate with people from different cultures all over the world. The Saudi Cultural Bureau in Canada recommended GEOS to me, pointing out that GEOS is one of the strongest English schools in Calgary that has helped former Saudi students in achieving their goals. My first thoughts were absolutely positive I loved Calgary's atmosphere and serenity instantly; it provides the perfect environment to live and study, with room for a little fun as well. As for GEOS, from day one, I was so satisfied when I met everyone. My teachers and classmates were friendly and helpful, and I was relieved to know that it'd be easy for me to fit into this new great place. I feel more confident, I'm using almost everything that I learn, while I'm reading articles, watching T.V or while talking to native speakers. Definitely, my English is improving fast as a result of the teachers' dedication to their work and their constant support to their students. GEOS is a place where you can go beyond cultural differences and feel at home. If you want to be surrounded by friends all the time, then GEOS is definitely what you are looking for. Everyone here (classmates, teachers, and workers in the office) helped me through my transition time by making me feel that I belong. Another great thing about GEOS is the variety of teaching techniques; they are absolutely beneficial. Not only do you learn how to pass exams and answer questions in English, but you also learn how to communicate, interact and survive in an English environment. Finally, I would just like to say that GEOS academy is where you can be yourself, expand your horizons, and take one BIG step towards achieving your goals.

My name is Young Bae Won and I am from South Korea I am studying at GEOS Calgary for 36 weeks. I want to speak like native speakers because someday I will travel abroad and I want to start my own business. I think I will need English for this. I know my English wasn't very good to I promised myself to make a constant effort to improve at GEOS. My uncle's friend told me about GEOS. He said the atmosphere, students, and teachers were great and now that I am here, I agree. My first impressions of Calgary were of the beautiful nature. Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise, there is nothing like this in Korea. I love the delicious beef we can eat in Calgary. It is better and cheaper than in Korea. Of course I enjoy my classes. Manse is a very funny teacher. Now I have friends from countries like Japan, Germany, and Brazil. Learning English is always hard but when I work hard and see my improvement I feel very proud. My speaking is smoother. When I first came here I felt nervous to speak to native speakers but now I'm not because I have more confidence in my speaking. I know if I make a mistake in my speaking it's not a terrible thing. Someone will help me and I will learn something new. Welcome to GEOS. Keep an open mind and you will learn about English, yourself, and many things in the world.

Hello, my name is Pedro from Belo Horizonde, Brazil. I came to GEOS Calgary on July 20th and I will stay here for 6 months. I chose to come to Calgary because the GEOS School is big and famous with many schools in the world. My sister in-law went to Calgary 5 years ago and she tell me many good things about GEOS. My work is International trade and I want to use English at my work. This language is the most important in the world. On my first day of school, I met new friends from Brazil. In the first week my class mates were my good friends. They are from Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Japan. I am happy with my classmates and my English level now. I think I am ready to move to the next level soon. My English has improved a lot. It is a big difference from the first day. On the first day I didn't talk to people from other countries. This week I know all the new students and tell them about GEOS. I went with water rafting with Ramon from Mexico and lots of students from France. My message to people thinking about coming to GEOS Calgary is that it is a good school this is a beautiful city with many people from different countries. The reason was everything in Canada is new for me. The laws and rules for working are different from my country. Also, this program helped me to know the way of talking to the customers. My co-workers and my boss were amazed that I knew how to communicate with the customers. I'm working at a Japanese restaurant. I serve the meals for the customers, take orders, have some small talks with the customers, and count the bills. It was so stressful at the beginning because I did something wrong almost every day. After a month, I'm becoming a professional. I enjoy that people say thank you after my serving them, and they smile back when I smile. I learned how to greet and communicate with people. As well, I learned to recognize the differences of the coins. I highly recommend this program for the students who want to work here, because this program helps you learn how to write a resume and have a interview in English. Also, this program helps you to know what you should do and say to the customers during work. This program is very useful before getting a job.

My name is Vanya Segura Mancilla and I am from Mexico. I will be studying at GEOS Calgary for 3 months. I live in Playa del Carmen Mexico which is a tourist town. I want to improve my fluency, conversation skills, and my listening skills to be able to communicate with foreigners and also for my job. My sister studied at GEOS Calgary last winter and she recommended I study here too. I looked around Calgary for some other options but GEOS looked the best to me. At GEOS you can practice all the time because there is a rule against speaking your own language in the school. Calgary is a great city. I enjoy coming to school. I learn something new every day. I have met people from many different countries and you can make really good friends. In the past 6 weeks I think that I have improved my skills a lot. Now I can understand native speakers more easily and have better conversations. I still make some mistakes but now I can see them and fix them. I think I will stop making them soon. If you want to improve your skills, find friends, excellent teachers, and have great activities to join, you should come to GEOS Calgary. I don't want to go home.

My name is Lee-Chuan and I will stay at GEOS Calgary for 36 weeks. I am studying English because I want to get a good job in Taiwan. I need to improve my English skills, for example, grammar, listening and speaking. There are very few people from Taiwan here. Even the people in China Town can speak Cantonese. I have to speak English here. I'm sure I'll improve my English quickly. At GEOS, when I have any questions, the GEOS teachers all like to help me. The office staff even helped me with a personal problem I had. Everyone here is so kind. I am so happy to study here. I feel my English is improving. My speaking and grammar skills are better than before. I have already moved up from level 2 to level 3. When I decided to study English abroad it was so difficult for me to choose a school. Now that I'm studying at GEOS Calgary I know it's a good choice. My host family is very kind. We went to Banff and Jasper together. I practice my English speaking and listening with them every day. If you want to improve your English and have a good home stay experience, GEOS Calgary is the perfect choice.
