WEATHER / CLIMATE IN CALGARY
Here is some information about the weather and what type of clothes to bring on your visit to GEOS Language Academy, Calgary.
Spring (March - May): ![]() Average temperature is 9 - 12 degrees Celsius. The weather can be a little unpredictable. Please bring a warm jacket clothing that can be layered. (ie. Sweaters and sweatshirt etc.) Ski season is usually open until the middle of May. So bring your skiwear as well!
Summer (June - August): ![]() Average temperature is 20 - 23 degrees Celsius. For the city, pack lightweight clothing with a sweater, raincoat or light topcoat for the cooler evening temperatures. Temperatures in the Rocky Mountains are always a little cooler than in the city. If you planning outdoor activities in the mountains, bring good hiking shoes or boots and carry warm clothing that can be layered.
Fall (September - November): ![]() Average temperature is 11 - 13 degrees Celsius. Same as the spring, except ski season usually opens in the middle of November. Make sure you take advantage of Canada's four seasons and go out to view the changing leaves and beautiful fall foliage!
Winter (December - February): ![]() Average temperature is -11 - -15 degrees Celsius. During winter months, a warm coat, boots, gloves and a hat are a necessity. If you plan on skiing or snowboarding, be sure to bring your skiwear.
Other Facts: ![]() Calgary and area is typically dry with the largest amounts of rainfall during the spring months. Although the mountain areas receive significant amounts of snow in the winter, Calgary often receives only a very moderate snowfall. Because the weather in Calgary is very dry, you might find that you need to apply lotion to your body. Varieties of lotion are sold in most drugstores in the city. Alberta has more hours of sunshine in a year than any other province in Canada and Calgary is known for its blue skies. So don't forget your sunglasses. A unique phenomenon called a Chinook Wind can raise temperatures more that 20 degrees in one day, turning winter days into spring. These Chinook can last from 3-6 days three to four times per winter season.

I was really enjoyed studying English and I also had opportunities to met people from many different countries. The most important is I can make really good friends, get a lot of experiences from them and I learn new things everyday. Really! After 3 months My English is really improve because I can listen and speak with native speaker and my pronunciation is really change and better than before. Nowadays I'm not afraid to have a conversation with native speaker. That is a good reasons why am I study English at Geos Calgary. Calgary is really great city, especially the weather and there are many places for traveling. For example, Banff, Jasper and you can enjoy with natural. Canadian people are very friendly and helpful. Now! If you are looking for school to improve your English skills, Geos can help you. You will be able to improve very fast, find good friends, great teacher and really good activities to join.
